Getting Started

Faster funding claim is based on a comparison of our policy of making funds available upon receipt of payment instruction versus the typical banking practice of posting funds at settlement. Fraud prevention restrictions may delay availability of funds with or without notice.  Early availability of funds requires payor’s support of direct deposit and is subject to the timing of payor’s payment instruction.

No minimum balance to open an optional Savings Account. Savings Account funds are withdrawn through your All-Access Account (maximum 6 such transfers per calendar month). The Savings Account linked with your All-Access Account is made available to Accountholders through MetaBank and Republic Bank & Trust Company; Members FDIC. Funds on deposit are FDIC insured through MetaBank and Republic Bank & Trust Company. For purposes of FDIC coverage, all funds held on deposit by you at MetaBank and Republic Bank & Trust Company will be aggregated up to the coverage limit, currently $250,000.00, and insured by the FDIC.

When your account materials arrive you will need to activate the debit card. Follow the printed activation and identity verification steps that are on the materials that arrive with your debit card.

They should arrive approximately 7 to 10 business days after you place your order. If you do not receive your account materials within 10 business days, call Customer Service.

The Netspend Network is provided by Netspend Corporation and its authorized agents. Netspend is a licensed provider of money transfer services (NMLS ID: 932678). Netspend's licenses and related information may be found at www.netspend.com/licenses. Fees, limits, and other restrictions may be imposed by Netspend and other third parties in connection with use of the Netspend Network.

Fees for bank transfers are determined by the transferor’s bank and may be charged to the transferor’s bank account by the service provider or originating bank. No cost for online or mobile Account-to-Account transfers between Netspend Cardholders; a $4.95 fee applies to each such transfer conducted through a Netspend Customer Service agent.

Choose from several ways to add money:

  • Direct Deposit. Direct Deposit is a convenient and no-cost way to add your paycheck or government benefits to your account. Plus you'll get paid up to 2 days earlier![1]

  • Netspend Network Retail Locations. There are more than 130,000 convenient locations in the U.S. where you can add money to your account.[4] Our Retail locator helps you find locations nearest to you.

  • Bank Transfers. Add money from most U.S.-issued bank accounts.[5] If you have a checking or savings account, use it to add money to your All-Access Account.

  • Transfer Money Between Netspend Accounts. Transfer money from one Netspend account to another.[5]

  • Tax Refunds. You may electronically deposit your tax refund to your All-Access Account.

When you have your tax refund directly deposited to your account, you don't have to wait for a paper check. Bring your Routing Number and Account Number to your tax preparer, or if you're filling out your own taxes, indicate them in the designated sections.

Netspend gives you access to your paycheck or government benefits up to 2 days earlier[1] than your usual payday. Please note, your account must be active and in good standing in order for electronic direct deposits to be credited to your account.

Faster access claim is based on comparison of a disbursement via direct deposit vs. disbursement via a mailed paper check. For up-to-date information from the IRS, www.irs.gov/refunds.

We want to make enrolling in Direct Deposit as painless as possible, regardless of where the deposit is coming from.

  • Paychecks. All or part of your paycheck can be direct deposited to your Account. You will need to provide your employer a bank routing number (sometimes referred to as the 'ABA Routing Number') and your account number.
  • Government Benefits. Your government benefits, including Social Security, SSI, SSDI, or VA compensation, can be direct deposited. Check your benefit provider's site for enrollment instructions. Existing accountholders can log in to the Online Account Center to learn more.
  • Tax Refunds. Get your Federal and State tax refunds faster[6] than you would by mail. Just have them electronically deposited directly into your All-Access Account.

Using Your Account

Your All-Access Debit Card can be used anywhere Debit Mastercard or Visa debit cards are accepted – online, in stores, and over the phone.

Netspend does not charge for this service, but your wireless carrier may charge for messages or data.

To check your balance for no fee, log in to your Online Account Center, where you can see your balance, your deposits and transaction history. Or, sign up for Anytime Alerts™ to receive a text message[7] including your account balance, after every transaction. Call the number on the back of your card and obtain your balance through the telephone automated service. If you speak to a customer service representative, a fee is assessed.

Contact Customer Service via our toll-free number listed on the back of your Netspend All-Access debit card or file an online dispute by logging in to your Online Account Center.

You can transfer money to another Netspend account online for no fee.[5]

No. Loans or payday advance loans are not available from Netspend. However, you can deposit loan proceeds from other companies into your All-Access Account.
